Summer is almost here and for my family that means we are on the go a lot more. Not being at home makes it hard to get a healthy meal in. So I will make one of these smoothies for the family for a breakfast, lunch or filling snack on the go. These tasty summer smoothies are a hit with adults and kids alike.

Tasty Summer Smoothies

Each smoothie is simple to make, takes less than 10 minutes to make 3 – 4 smoothies perfect for the family. They are cool are refreshing and a great way to get extra veggies into your diet and your kids too 🙂

A few things to note, I have a Blendtec Blender, which I adore, it is loud, but it really works and was totally worth the investment. There are other blenders out there that have no trouble blending fruit and pulverizing seeds. The Blendtec is just what I happen to have. If you have a different blender that cannot blend as easily, I would recommend going slow, cutting the recipe in half and blending a few extra times.

Raspberry Avocado Almond Smoothie

Ingredients in the Raspberry Avocado Smoothie

Ingredients

Note: They are in the order in which you should place them in the blender, starting at the top.

  • 2 – 3 Cups Almond Milk (I like Unsweetened Vanilla)
  • 1 – 2 Cups Spinach (Or your preferred dark leafy green)
  • 1 1/2 Cups Frozen Raspberries
  • 1 Ripe Avocado (Fresh or Frozen)
  • 1 Scoop of your favorite protein powder (I use (affiliate link) Garden of Life Raw Organic Protein- Unflavored)
  • 2 Table spoons Honey (Agave, Maple syrup OPTIONAL)

Once all the ingredients are in, I press the smoothie button and let the (affiliate link) Blendtec do its thing. I like mine extra smooth so once I go through one round of blending I add some extra Coconut Milk to mine, I would say between ½ cup and 1 cup. Then I press the smoothie button again. You can do this in a normal blender, just be ready that there might be more seeds than you like or you may need to blend for longer. If you do not want to splurge for a (affiliate link) Blendtec, then I would recommend a (affiliate link) Ninja, they work well too and are much more economical.

Once done, I pour into 3 -4 Mason jars with a lid. If you are drinking them on the go Then place the ones that are not going to be enjoyed right away into the fridge, they will last in an air tight jar for a few days. That is, if no one drinks them.

Making batches of summer smoothies makes sure I have an easy and healthy breakfast or snack to grab on the go!
