Grocery Shopping- Are you in need of a Grocery Budget Makeover?

One of my least favorite tasks to do is grocery shop. I always felt like I would get there, hungry and tired, with the kiddos screaming, making it near impossible to stick to a budget or a plan! I did try to make a list, which I inevitably left on my counter! If any of this sounds familiar to you, then you are definitely in the right place!

I got fed up with it so much last year that I decided to do something about it. Our grocery budget was totally. out. of. control. But we were tossing a ton of food. It was pretty obvious that we needed a better system.

Average Food Costs are Shocking

I did some research and found out that the Department of Agriculture reports on the average cost of food on a weekly /  monthly basis in the US. Average Cost of Food- 2017

It was amazing what the estimated food costs are for my family of 4. Even on the Thrifty plan, monthly costs were estimated at $590/month or $7,080/year. That is INSANE. Even just cutting this budget down a little would make a big improvement to my budgeting bottom line.

Help is on the Way

So, by sheer chance, I received an email from one of my favorite bloggers, and it was about the Grocery Budget Makeover. I thought, tying something would be better than going on the way we were. The price was way reasonable and I just had a gut feeling based on reading the testimonials and the course curriculum.

So, I signed up for the 5 week course (it took me several more weeks to finish, as I went at my own pace!) and prayed that this would work.

Boy did it ever! The Grocery Budget Makeover is a TOTAL SPENDING OVERHAUL that will help you

I cut about $1,200 for the entire year (from April – December). I would say that is not bad, but I plan to use the new bound Grocery Budget Makeover printed workbook that is on its way to my house! I hope to cut even more in 2018.

You can get one of your own printed bound workbooks too as an add-on to the classic course. 🙂
