I have a confession to make. I am an addict. I LOVE fruit smoothies. They are just so tasty and they can be made healthy (or not). You can read more about where this love came from here.
The best part for my family is that my oldest adores them and he does not even know he is getting veggies with the fruit. That is a win in my book . Below I have listed several smoothies that I love to make. You can revise the recipe to fit your needs. That is the best part about smoothies, they are so versatile.
Here are four of my go to recipes to help eat right, and keep the weight and bank book in check!
Triple Threat Fruit Smoothie
(makes 3 – 4 mason jars worth)
I have a Blendtec Blender, which I adore, it is loud, but it really works and was totally worth the investment.
ingredients
Note: They are in the order in which you should place them in the blender, starting at the top.
- 2 cups of coconut milk (I use So Delicious, unsweetened Vanilla) + more as desired to add smoothness
- 1- 2 scoop(s) of your desired protein powder (I use RAW Organic Unflavored, it can be found here)
- 1 – 2 cups of baby spinach (I use organic from Costco it is the least expensive where I live);
- 1 cup of each (you may substitute with another berry if you want!):
- Raspberries (Frozen is preferred)
- Blueberries (Frozen is preferred)
- Blackberries (Frozen is preferred)
Once all the ingredients are in, I press the smoothie button and let the Blendtec do its thing. I like mine extra smooth so once I go through one round of blending I add some extra Coconut Milk to mine, I would say between ½ cup and 1 cup. Then I press the smoothie button again. You can do this in a normal blender, just be ready that there might be more seeds than you like or you may need to blend for longer.
Once done, I pour into 3 -4 Mason jars with a lid, you can find awesome reusable lids here and here. Then place the ones that are not going to be enjoyed right away into the fridge, they will last in an air tight jar for a few days. That is, if no one drinks them.
Making batches of smoothies makes sure I have an easy and healthy breakfast or snack to grab on the go!

Mango Raspberry Coconut Smoothie
(makes 3 – 4 mason jars worth)
This smoothie reminds me of the beach, and since I live in a state with a long, cold winter, I need something to help me get through it. I love the taste of this smoothie, so tropical, and still healthy. Hidden greens make sure it is, along with a dose of protein powder. Remember, you can customize the recipe to your liking. That is the best part! Here is how I made my little ray of sunshine.
